No apologies for mentioning this but…..it’s time to get Christmas cracking!

We’re well aware that it’s months away and the run up to the holiday season is likely to be busier than usual this year but find the time to plan a Christmas campaign and make sure your agency has a happy (and profitable) New Year.

Just in case you’ve forgotten, Last Boxing Day saw a record 10,000+ homes listed for sale on Rightmove because sellers wanted to take advantage of the traditional post-Christmas Day bounce as buyers’ minds switched from presents to properties.

The number of visitors to Rightmove’s site tripled between Christmas Day and Boxing Day and we can expect similar levels of activity this coming festive season, especially if interest rates continue their predicted slide into 2025 and beyond.

So it’s vital that agents get their creative juices flowing early and step into Christmas marketing plans as early as possible – who needs a bleak mid-winter, right?

And it doesn’t have to cost five gold rings, either. Here are some low-cost marketing hacks to get the Christmas marketing party started:

 

1. HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Send a Christmas-themed email to your database offering an instant online valuation to fill your pipeline for the New Year.

 

2. DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

Send a leaflet or letter to local homeowners with an overview of the market and a QR code to get an online valuation.

 

3. DRIVING HOME (SALES) FOR CHRISTMAS

Write an annual market summary blog encouraging people to list their home for sale in the New Year and take advantage of the spike in interest from buyers.

 

4. O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL

Boost your social media followers and community engagement by running a Christmas competition (Best Christmas Party pic? Best home Christmas decoration? Keep it simple)

 

5. TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Keep your Facebook and Google ads running over the whole of the Christmas holiday period to make the most of the annual spike in expected leads.

 

6. DECK THE HALLS

Decorate the office and have plenty of Christmas treats on offer. After all, who doesn’t love a chocolate Santa? 

 

7. JOY TO THE WORLD

Christmas is about giving. Adopt a local charity or ask for donations to your local foodbank using the office as a collection point.
